Park City has more alcohol-based businesses per capita than any other city in the state of Utah. But it is important to drink responsibly. The following should help you navigate the adventures of the local liquor law landscape.
Now available at the grocery stores and gas stations in up to 5%. It is also served in most restaurants. Full strength beer can be purchased at the Liquor Stores, most bars, and some restaurants. If you wish to order a pitcher at a restaurant or a bar, you must present the IDs of two different people in your party.
Wine can only be purchased at the State Liquor Stores and is served in bars and restaurants.
You can buy liquor at the State Liquor stores and purchase it by the drink at most restaurants (if you order food), and in bars (without having to order food). Most drinks/shots contain 1.5oz of liquor and are governed by a special device that measures each pour. These are the strange looking black caps you will see every bartender use when making a drink. Doubles are not permitted in Utah. "Sidecars" are an extra shot of liquor served on the side of a drink are also not allowed.
The closest State liquor store is off Main Street on Swede Alley. The Liquor Store is at the northern basement end of China Bridge Parking Garage. There is also a large State liquor store at 1550 Snow Creek Drive, with a wide variety of drinks. If you are over by the Canyons, the closest place to get spirits will be in Kimball at 1612 W Ute Blvd. This is also larger with a wide variety of drinks.
Please note that all liquor stores are closed on Sundays, so be sure to stock up on Saturday!
