As for hiking in the summer, visitors are spoiled for choice and can easily fill your day with outdoor activities. Hiking in Park City varies from easy-going meadow walks among the wildflowers to technical and challenging peak summit climbs. Some of the most popular Park City hikes include the Armstrong Trail, Mid Mountain Trail, Round Valley and Iron Mountain. A popular summit climb is the Bald Mountain trail, which is one of the highest peaks in the Uinta mountain range
Iron Mountain Trail (2.35-mile round trail): The Iron Mountain Trail is a short, moderately steep hike through Iron Canyon with an overlook boasting wide views of Park City Old Town and the colorful ski slopes in the distance. The contrast of the evergreen pine groves with vibrant red maples and lush aspens, and spectacular Park City views makes this trail well worth the climb.
Lost Prospector Trail (easy 3.7-mile loop): The Lost Prospector Trail is an easy loop close to Main Street in the heart of Park City. This family-friendly Park City trail takes you through the golden aspens, vibrant Gambel Oaks, and red maples with picture-perfect views of Old Town, Park City Mountain, and the Deer Valley. This trail connects to the Gambel Oak Loop for a longer hike and locals recommend you hike counter-clockwise for the best fall foliage views of Park City.
Rob’s Trail (moderate 5-mile trail): Rob’s Trail is a pet-friendly Park City fall foliage trail near Canyon’s Resort. This easy, well-marked trail climbs gently through the golden aspens with views of the Canyon Resort ski slopes. Rob’s Trail is an out and back trail with many other clearly marked loop trails for a longer hike.
Park City Mountain Jenni’s Trail (3-mile loop): Hike the slopes of Park City Mountain Resort on Jenni’s Trail. This gentle trail begins at the Park City Mountain Resort and weaves through towering aspen groves and mountain forests leading to soaring views of the ski resort and town. This trail connects to a number of different loops to extend your hike.

It's an easy stroll or bike ride to dining and shopping on Main Street as well as Snow Park Lodge or the St. Regis in Deer Valley. You'll love the sounds and scents of the quaking aspens and pine trees that dot the serene hillside landscape.
If looking for even more heart-pounding excitement, the greater Park City and Deer Valley vicinity offer some of the most elaborate and thoroughly enjoyable hiking and biking paths in all of Utah with hundreds of miles of non-motorized trails, spanning over 3,000 vertical feet of elevation change, with chairlifts for bikers, hikers and sightseers. Not only is the scenery breathtaking, but there are seemingly endless miles of singletrack in and around the town of Park City, entailing approximately 400 miles of continuous, non-motorized recreational trail. Spanning two world-class mountain resorts, and acres and acres of preserved open space, Park City has been designated a Gold Level Ride Center by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA). From mountainous, alpine terrain reaching altitudes of nearly 10,000’, to rolling high desert, the greater area trail system is interspersed with views, serenity, nature, mining history, and adventure. Gardmans Pass has some of the best views in Park City/Deer Valley. It is typically closed in the winter time but has incredible panoramic views in the summer and fall. A favorite time to go is in early fall before the first storm of the season. The fall colors are at their peak and all you see is a sea of colorful foliage.

When: The entire walking tour is 4.2 miles and takes an hour and 30 minutes without stopping, but we suggest you take your time, enjoy the sights, and grab some food and beverages along the way. So it could actually take a half day or full day of exploration.
