Yes! Pickleball is alive and well in Park City. It has grown exponentially. Visitors have options for court time that’s suitable to their skill set and experience. For a one-time fee, you can join open play sessions throughout the week at the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center (PC MARC) or Basin Recreation. If you want to try joining a pick-up game, head to Willow Creek Park, which has four fenced-in tennis courts that can be repurposed for pickle. All you need to bring is your paddle! It’s first-come, first-served, but go between 8am and noon for best chance to play-in.
NOTE: due to popular demand, the city council recently designated odd days for pickleball and even days for tennis, help minimize conflict and allow both types of users to access the shared courts. As of 2024, the Park City Council is working with private developers to hopefully build a new indoor pickleball facility. Meanwhile, 14 public courts are available for pickleball in Summit County, including at the MARC (4 courts ), Basin Recreation Fieldhouse (6 courts), and South Summit Aquatic and Fitness Center (4 courts) excluding the bubble courts.
To maintain its historical integrity, Park City has a highly strict policy of allowing no chain stores in its downtown. Which means the boutiques, restaurants, bars, and outfitters you’ll find here are exclusive to Park City. The exception to this rule are outdoor equipment and apparel stores — i.e. Patagonia or Athleta — that must operate as flagship stores, selling items that can only be found in Park City. So look for those unique items when strolling the shops.
A leisurely walk along Park City's Main Street is sure to introduce you to local treasures, with each storefront presenting a unique array of merchandise, services, artwork, and delectable food. Yet, while the town's central artery offers plenty to engage your group, adventure beckons just beyond. Don your fitness wearable and venture on a brief walk or hike to uncover the equally enchanting finds and views nestled in the summits and canyons that embrace the greater Deer Valley corridor.
